The Backstage Cable X-Over Cart is a purpose-built production cart designed for the film and television industry, engineered to transport up to 12 standard cable cross-overs efficiently and safely across a wide variety of set and location environments. Constructed from heavy-duty steel with a Black Hammertone finish, the Backstage Cable X-Over Cart delivers a 600 lb. maximum load capacity, a practical mixed wheel configuration, and an optional folding plate that extends its usefulness well beyond cable management.

Built for Production Sets

Cable cross-overs are essential on any set where power and data cables must cross high-traffic pathways, but transporting them in quantity is a logistical challenge without the right equipment. This cart holds up to 12 standard cross-overs in a single load, keeping them organized, protected, and ready for rapid deployment. The steel frame and Black Hammertone powder coat finish are designed to withstand the rigors of daily use on busy film and television productions, from studio stages to outdoor location shoots.

Wheel Configuration and Mobility

The cart uses a mixed wheel setup optimized for production environments. Two 6" balloon swivel caster wheels with individual brakes provide precise steering and stable parking on smooth stage floors, while two 10" pneumatic offset wheels handle the uneven terrain, cables, and rough surfaces common on location. A hand brake offers additional stopping control when navigating inclines or crowded walkways. Optional foam-filled tires (WA-10 FOAM OS) are available as an upgrade for puncture-free operation in demanding conditions.

Optional Folding Plate Accessory

The optional aluminum folding plate (E-13 C) significantly expands the cart's versatility. When deployed, it creates a flat platform capable of carrying milk crates, apple boxes, and large light fixtures including the ARRI 18K — making the cart a multi-purpose hauler for grip, electric, and art department departments alike. The plate folds flat when not in use to preserve the cart's standard cross-over carrying configuration.
